Some mine and my daughter's best conversations are in the car or on the walk to and from our local park. We recently discussed how different the NHS system is to other countries and my daughter expressed how unfair it is in other countries to have to pay for medical care! Just a walk to the park, just life and just learning. Love your daughter's clay figures.
Brilliant, yes it’s amazing the scope and depth of conversations that come up when there’s space to actually have them with children. I think that when children are moved from one place/activity to the next all the time their systems must spend a lot of time just dealing with and processing transitions.
What a gift :-) I was having a conversation with a Mum the other day about how our children sometimes find it hard to transition just from one close caregiver to another. So when we think of all the people, spaces, and activities children are expected to transition between throughout their day, it's kind of wild how much of a load that is for them, that many - remarkably - seem to adjust to. At least on the surface that is.
I love these field notes, they really speak to me and remind me of my homeschooling days with my children all those years ago. I wish I'd captured more of those 'seeds' as they appeared and landed in writing back then.
Thank you Beverley, what a lovely comment. I’m so happy that you enjoy reading these and that they bring back memories for you. Yes — alongside hoping my publication and words help others, I am also happy that they are functioning as a living record of our journey just for us too. Thank you so much for reading and commenting, it means such a lot coming from someone who has already walked a similar path. I hope your children are happy and fulfilled :-)

Yes absolutely. Our transitions are always slow now and are part of the journey/activity, which I definitely think frees up a lot of capacity.
